Installation
Requirements
- Drupal 10.3 or later (including Drupal 11)
- AI module 1.4.0 or later
- Key module 1.18 or later
- DXPR Builder 2.7.5 or later
- A free DXPR account
Install the module
composer require drupal/ai_provider_dxpr
drush en ai_provider_dxpr
Composer pulls in the openai-php/client library automatically.
Get your API key
- Register for a free account at dxpr.com/user/free-registration
- Copy the API key from the DXPR dashboard
Every account includes 10,000 free monthly credits. See AI usage tracking for how credits are counted.
Create a Key entity
DXPR AI Provider stores the API key through Drupal's Key module, keeping credentials out of configuration exports.
- Navigate to
/admin/config/system/keys - Click Add key
- Set the label to something containing "DXPR" (for example, "DXPR AI API Key")
- Choose Authentication as the key type
- Paste your API key as the key value
- Save
On module installation, DXPR AI Provider auto-detects any Key entity whose label contains "DXPR" and selects it automatically.
Configure the provider
Visit /admin/config/ai/providers/dxpr to open the settings form. The form validates your API key against the Kavya model listing when you save, confirming the connection works.
See the Configuration guide for details on model selection, provider failover, and the em-dash processor.
Verify
If the key is valid, saving the configuration displays your available models and current credit balance on the settings page.
